About Kinepna
KINEPNA is a purpose-driven social enterprise committed to empowering local artisans, with a special focus on internally displaced persons (IDPs) and individuals from underprivileged backgrounds, while preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Kuki tribes.
The name “Kinepna” comes from a Kuki dialect meaning “Hope.” Hope is the heart of everything we do; it drives our belief in a better future and reminds us that positive change is not only possible but necessary.
KINEPNA was founded in response to the Kuki–Meitei conflict, born out of a deep conviction that meaningful action could help ease the financial, economic, and emotional suffering of the Kuki tribes. The vision emerged from the lived experience of its founder, who is also an internally displaced person (IDP). What began as a God-given idea planted in the heart has since grown into a mission-led social enterprise rooted in compassion, resilience, and faith.
Today, KINEPNA goes beyond creating handcrafted accessories. We provide a dynamic and supportive platform for artisans to showcase their skills, earn sustainable livelihoods, and restore dignity through meaningful work. We also equip individuals who are willing to learn and work with practical, income-generating skills, enabling long-term self-reliance.
Currently, over 20 artisans work directly with KINEPNA, and we actively collaborate with five local artisans who run their own independent businesses. As we continue to grow, our vision expands beyond a single community embracing a broader mission of empowerment, dignity, and hope.
MISSION
To contribute to the recovery and growth of the conflict-affected communities by strengthening the local economy, creating sustainable livelihoods, and fostering mental and emotional well-being for displaced and underprivileged individuals.
VISION
We envision restored communities where individuals affected by conflict experience dignity, healing, and hope through meaningful work. KINEPNA seeks a future where cultural heritage is preserved, local economies are strengthened, and artisans are empowered to thrive financially, emotionally, and socially.
